Based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho · Serving Rural North Idaho and Beyond
🧭 Our Mission
AspectNexus is an organization dedicated to providing accessible, quality STEM education to rural communities. Our mission is to empower individuals in rural areas to succeed in the 21st-century economy — regardless of their zip code.
We understand that rural communities face unique challenges: geographic isolation, limited institutional resources, and fewer pathways into technology and innovation. Our programs are being designed to be flexible, community-rooted, and tailored to local needs.
We are building partnerships with schools, educators, and community organizations to develop programs that actually address those needs — not a one-size-fits-all curriculum delivered from a distance.
🌱 Hands-On Learning
Real tools, real projects, real skills that connect to student interests and futures.
🤝 Community First
Programs built alongside — not delivered to — the communities we serve.
🌍 Diverse & Inclusive
A safe, welcoming environment for learners of all backgrounds and experiences.
📈 Economic Impact
STEM education that leads to real careers, startups, and opportunity in rural areas.
💡 Three Pillars of Transformation
Foster in each student the full capacity, creativity, and confidence to become agents of change in their personal lives and in their community.
01 — Inspiration
Inviting students to participate in the creative economy and to take ownership of their own future. We will plant seeds of curiosity that grow into careers, ventures, and community leadership.
02 — Innovation
Serving as a catalyst for grassroots invention. Our makerspaces and programs will give rural students the tools to turn ideas into prototypes — and prototypes into reality.
03 — Education
Building a living connection between the community and its learners. We will link the practice of making to formal concepts, providing pathways for academic and career advancement.
🔍 Our Vision
To be the favorite makerspace for North Idaho — drawing curious and creative people to a place of innovation, fellowship, and discovery.

🎯 What We’re Building
Our goals are grounded in research-backed education practice and shaped by the real needs of rural communities. They guide every program, partnership, and makerspace we create.
- Create the context that develops the Maker mindset — a growth mindset that encourages every learner to believe they can learn to do anything.
- Identify, develop, and share a broad framework of projects and kits based on a wide range of tools and materials that connect to student interests in and out of school.
- Build a new body of practice in teaching making — and a corps of mentors and practitioners to follow it.
- Design and develop Makerspaces across a variety of community contexts to serve diverse learners who don’t share equal access to the same resources.
- Design and host online platforms for collaboration among students, teachers, and the broader community.
- Develop programs especially for young people that allow them to take a leading role in creating more Makers — and in shaping the community around them.
- Create community contexts for exhibition and curation of student work, ensuring new opportunities are continuously created for more people to participate.
- Allow individuals to build a record of participation in the Maker community — useful for academic and career advancement, and for personal growth.
- Develop educational contexts that link the practice of making to formal concepts and theory, supporting exploration while introducing advanced design thinking.
- Foster in each student the full capacity, creativity, and confidence to become agents of change in their personal lives and in their community.
